covid update #2
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT REGARDING THE CURRENT COVID-19 SITUATION:
Hi all.
I hope everyone is healthy and safe.
I apologize for the delay of this post but it was very important we had all the facts and procedures in place before we made any decision on the Rec Rowing League this session.
We ( the Rec executive) have listened to Canada Rowing, Row Ontario and SCRC.
SCRC has just completed a very detailed procedure on how to return to Rowing.
SCRC has created a site on " signup genius" for volunteers to register. You can sign up as "Admin" to help athletes sign in or out and ensure they have their safe Rowing kit or sign up to help out as a "Driver" to drive safety boats.
For the foreseeable future they will only allow SINGLES on water
Rick Crooker (president SCRC) has indicated that unless this virus ends soon " I don't anticipate we will be allowing anything other than singles for quite a while"
He also suggested that Rec should not plan on starting up before August.
By early July we should know if August is possible.
So based on this the Rec executive has decided not to have a first session.
Refunds will be returned in the same way they were paid. Tammy Jacobsen will begin the process of refunds immediately.
This is very disappointing but for the safety of all this is the right thing to do.
PLEASE follow us on Facebook as we will continue to keep you in the loop as things are constantly changing.
And let's hope we can have some sort of a second session.
Take care of yourself and your family.
I WILL " see ya up top" soon

St. Catharines Recreational Rowing League
What We OfferWe are an ADULT recreational rowing league offering a little bit of fitness, a lot of fun, and the opportunity to row with an amazing group of friends on the world-class Henley rowing course in Port Dalhousie.
Our League is best known for our structured crews, weekly "race nights" with bbq and entertainment and our end-of-session banquets. We encourage anyone with an interest in adult recreational rowing to come out and join us! |
Annual Message from the President
"This year things are going to look a lot different. We are still hoping that we will be able to have some sort of rowing season in 2021. Typically our League offers weekly "race nights" with a free BBQ and entertainment, an end-of-session banquet with medals for all who participate, and rowing on the world-class Henley course. This year we are really just hoping to be able to get out on the water at all. We are working hard behind the scenes to make sure we are prepared to offer some form of rowing should the opportunity arise. Make sure to follow us on Facebook where we will be posting any important announcements or updates as things continue to change.
A big thank you to all of our rec rowers for being patient while we navigate these unknown waters.
Let's all continue to do our part so we can get back out on the water this summer!
-Bob Ralph, President
